State plans to roll out Huduma Centres in each Constituency
The Government, through the Ministry of Public Service, plans to establish Huduma centres in each sub-county as part of the Bottom-Up Transformative Agenda and Kenya Vision 2030.
The Principal Secretary Public Service Amos Gathecha said this at Machakos Huduma Centre during the launch of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management Services (KISM) into 10 Huduma centres for easy service delivery.
He noted that at present, there are 58 Huduma centres and the government has planned to have more centres in each of the 290 constituencies in the country to bring services closer to its citizens.
“In Kenya Vision 2030, we pledged to have a Huduma centre in each constituency," Gathecha said.
He pointed out that the deployment of KISM into Huduma reaffirms commitment to increasing convenience for supply chain practitioners who must travel to Nairobi to access KISM services.
Gathecha urged KISM to take advantage of the partnership with Huduma to deploy its services in the 58 Huduma centres in the country.
“KISM partnering with Huduma will help eliminate the need for supply chain practitioners to go in search of KISM services all over the country," Gathecha added.
Additionally, he acknowledged the Huduma Universal Agent as a key enabler to the partnership and the agent is a staff at Huduma who is trained to offer multiple services on behalf of the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
“The Universal Agent is an innovation by Huduma Kenya aimed at solving issues of service deployment in their platforms by assisting the digitally disadvantaged to access online services," Gathecha added.
KISM CEO Kenneth Matiba added that the launch of KISM services into Huduma was a stepping stone towards improvement and it reflects the evolving needs of their members who require seamless access to KISM services.
“We recognize the importance of access, and this launch is a testament to our commitment to meeting evolving needs of our members," Matiba said.
KISM CEO disclosed that the integration of KISM into Huduma would enable individuals and organisations to access membership registration and renewals, receive certification and licensing services and also get informed on continuous professional development programs and general inquiries and support.
He said KISM would abide by the governing guidelines and facilitate their officers to discharge their duties with professionalism and integrity.
“I urge all stakeholders to embrace the new chapter and frontier for service delivery with enthusiasm and determination to build an impactful supply chain profession,” KISM CEO said.
