Information Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Judy Munyinyi gives a keynote address on Ajira Digital programme at National Youth Service Engineering Institute Nairobi. This was during an online work sensitisation workshop for 70 youth Sacco leaders from Nairobi County courtesy of the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Youth Affairs on Thursday.
The Sacco leaders learned about Ajira Digital programme that aims to introduce young people in Kenya to online work and provide the tools, training and mentorship needed for young people to work and earn an income through online work.
They also learnt about MPost (Mobile Post office) from Posta Kenya which enables any mobile phone user to have his or her phone act like a mobile post office. It also allows one to make a mobile number be a formal postal address.
Other issues covered included digital skills, marketing through social media and advertising through YouTube among other lessons. [Photo: Bonface Malinda/KNA]
