Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i (centre) with the Principal Secretary for Higher Education Prof Colleta Suda (left) and the Director of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development Dr Jwan Julius walking after a press conference during a meeting of Chancellors, Chairs of Councils and Vice of Universities on Quality Audit of Universities in Kenya conducted between January and February 2017 at Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Nairobi today, February 16, 2017.

The audit established that the authenticity and validity of certification in some universities was weak. The Commission of Higher Education has directed universities to ensure that the process and management of certification is strictly monitored and that controls are in place to ensure that only authorised persons have access to certificates.
