The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Lakipia County Government will today sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will allow the taxman to collect Property Taxes and Single Business Permits fees on behalf of the devolved unit.
The signing ceremony will be presided over by the Governor of Laikipia County Mr Joshua Irungu and Mr Benson Korongo, KRA Commissioner in the Domestic Taxes Department, at the Laikipia County Government office in Nanyuki before mid-day.
The partnership will allow the Laikipia County leverage on KRA’s iTax platform. This will avail to them the advantage of making payments and billing of property rates, making it difficult for defaulters to operate undetected.
KRA continues to partner with County Governments to develop a module tailor-made for revenue collection at the county level.
