IEBC is hiring over 18,000 voter registration officials

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is looking for more than 18,000 temporary registration officials to support its Constituency Registration Officers and Assistant Registration Officers in carrying out the second mass voter registration exercise that will start from 16th January to 15th February 2017.

The deadline for applications is 16th December, 2016. According to the Commission, Voter Registration Assistants, Voter Registration Clerks and Constituency ICT Clerk applicants, who meet the qualifications should apply online.

The Voter Registration Assistants and ICT Clerks will be paid Ksh1,200 per day for the number of the days worked while Voter Registration Clerks will be paid Ksh 1,000 per day for the number of the days worked.

The requirements are that Voter Registration Assistants must be Kenyan citizens of high integrity, and be non-partisan. They should be holders of a minimum of Diploma in ICT or other IT related field, have effective communication skills and good report writing skills and be available for the entire period of voter registration.

They must also be aged 21 years and above and be residents in the constituency and ward in which they apply for and must quote the same on the application letter and envelop. Constituency ICT Clerks must be holders of a minimum of Diploma in ICT or other IT related field. ICT Certification (e.g. MCSE, CCNA or Equivalent) will be an added advantage and at least two (2) years industrial experience in ICT support in a busy environment. Clerks

Voter Registration Clerks must be Kenyan citizens of high integrity, non-partisan, have a minimum of KCSE Grade C- (Minus) and computer proficiency. Holders of ICT-related Diploma certificates from a recognised institution will be an added advantage

IEBC says the Voter Registration Clerk applicants must be available for the entire period of the inspection of the Voters Register and should be 19 years of age and above. They also ought to be residents in the constituency, ward and registration area in which they apply for and should quote the Constituency and Ward name on the application letter and envelope.
