Education PS to grace EAC essay competition today

The Principal Secretary for Education Dr Belio Kipsang (right) will preside over the East African Community Studies’ Essay Writing Competition 2016 National Awards Ceremony today, Friday December 2, 2016 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) at 2.00pm.

Participants in the essay competition were required to write essays of between 1000-1500 words themed: “Advantages and disadvantages of having new partner States in the East African Community.  The theme arose from the joining of The Republic of South Sudan in the Community. The competition ran from March, 2016 ended in July, 2016.

The competition was open to all students from form one to form four in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania. Participants were asked write in English, French or in Kiswahili languages but on the same topic. The competition aims to create awareness among the students about the policies, programmes and activities of East African Community.
